Visitors to Theme Parks

The graph shows the number of visitors to theme park around the world in 2000. In the next paragraph I am going to talk about the visitors in 5 different parks.

Firstly the number of visitors to Disneyland increased from 26 million to 42 million between 1995 – 2005. In addition Eurodisney visitors have increased from 12 million to 18 million in 5 years but then decreased to 11 million in 2005. On the other hand, Alton Tower visitors have a slight increase between 1995 – 2005 which was 3 million to 6 million in 10 years. In contrast, the visitors in Busch Gardens have trebled from 5 million in 1995 to 21 million in 2005. Finally, the highest number of visitors were in Disneyland with 42 million while the lowest were in Alton Tower with only 6 million.

The table shows most of the visitors were from North America while the second highest were from Europe. On the other hand Oceania comes in the last order of visitors to theme parks around the world in 2000.

In conclusion, I would say that North America have the highest number of visitors to theme parks while Oceania have the lowest.

 Portfolio Task 2

Problem and solution for moving to another country

People all over the world travel to different places because nowadays you can travel by air and go overseas using ships for either education or work. In the next paragraph I am going to talk about problems that people might have when they move and some solutions for them.

First of all, some people might have a big problem because they don’t know the language, but the solution is to learn the basics of the language you want. Second, culture can play a role in the problems such as life style, food and clothing. The solution for that is to learn and respect their culture before you go. Third, rules and regulations are not the same in all countries, so you will have to read books or use the internet to know everything you want about their rules before you go. Finally, safety and security can be a big problem in a lot of foreign countries. That’s why you have to both search and know the place or find other people like you such as Muslims or Arab people or some of your own nationality.

In conclusion, I would say that people can travel to any place if they know the language and the culture so it will be easier for them to enjoy their life in the other country.

Films shown and cinema attendance in Britain and Australia

Portfolio Task -1

Films shown and cinema attendance in Britain and Australia

The bar graph shows the origin of films which are shown in Britain and Australia in 2000, then the line graph tells us the number of people who attend the cinema in both countries.

In Britain the most shown films were the US films by nearly 75% while it was nearly 70% in Australia. British films took a percentage of 20% in the UK and only 5% in Australia. In Australia nothing but Australian films are shown and it is only 10%. Other films took a percentage of 2% and 16% for Britain and Australia. For the cinema attendance it fluctuated for Britain from 1980 to 1990. Then it ends up with a dramatic increase in 2000 by 150 million people, while it fluctuated for Australia from 1980 to 1984 then it leveled out to 1990. The number of people after that increased rapidly to reach 90 million in 2000.

In conclusion, I would say that the US films have more audience than any other films which leads us to know that in 2000 the number of people who attend the cinema increased to reach 150 million in Britain and 90 million in Australia.
